Vagabondo
is an Italian (Marsicano) Brown Bear, you can find him in the woods of Parco
Nazionale d'Abruzzo (150
Km. from Rome), but, as he is very shy, it is not so easy to meet.
He
is different from his others European and American colleagues because of his smaller
size, his nearly vegetarian diet and the passion for hiking: even during winter,
in sunny days, he often breaks hibernation to take a walk on fresh snow.

I
believe that knowing new places consents you to actually live the world, instead
of merely sitting on it.
I
travelled Europe in every corner by Interrail, but at the moment my favourite goals
are great forests, lonely mountains and all the places where the magic of nature
is to be found. Finvarra is the king of Irish woods elves, I borrowed his name and
begun to publish in Vagabondo some of my adventures: between rocks and forests of
Supramonte
Sardo and
in the huge wilderness ofAustralia.
I
like all those sports that are somehow connected to exploration: from sailing to
climbing to cycling. My favorite ones are definitely trekking and canyoning.
In
2004, in a fit of madness with my friend Mauriliojoined
our passoin for these sports and the one for ancient chivalry and realised a medieval
fantasy film: Lux
Alibi.
When
I'm in town I like to go to cinema, but I hate the ones with numbered places Iif
you wish to contact me click

“Vacatio” in latin means “lack of”, a sort
of “empty space” opening in every day life, a lack of daily
concerns, worries, duties and tasks that we fill with nice, different, joyful things.
A pleasure we begin to taste long before starting and that makes us feel richer
when we are back.
I
always thought that few delusions are stronger, after planning for long time a holiday,
than that of finding ourselves in the wrong place and possibly with the wrong companions.
Ii'm
glad to see that by means of Vagabondo people feeling like me are often able to findthe
wright travelmates and and the wright destinations.

I'm
a philosophy student at the Rome University..I decided to get involved in Vagabondo's
project to put together my old passions for computers (do you remember Mr. Sinclair?)
with my love for travelling. Though not so much in shape in the last years, what
I've always loved best is "walking". Were it through Scottish Highlands
or in some European city, I like the time and space of travelling to be decided by
my steps (and by those of my travel mates).
In
the picture you can see me trying to convince my friend and trekking mate Matteo
(and sometime it's difficult!) that we got lost. Some say that experience is getting
lost, in this case you have found expert guides. I hope that with our effort and
the collaboration of many passionate travellers of any kind, this site can as the
starting point to "get lost" in your travels.
I
live in Milan, but I'm from Genova and proud of it.
For
about 20 years I travelled nearly everywhere, as a tourist guide. Then, when luggage
became to be a little too heavy, I decided to exploit my previous experience and
I'm now working in a travel agency.
I'm
fond of reading books about travel and I buy all the possible travel magazine. I
speak well three languages and i'm a fan of Latin american music, chiefly the cuban
one, "Troba cubana": Silvio Rodriguez and Pablo Milanes.
