If
you are in a hurry use the searching engine: it'll surely find very quickly something
cheap. If you have more time you'd better consult the different airlines web sites,
you might find something even more favourable and/or a small airport nearer to your
final destination :-)
Searching
engine
This
searching engine draws on edreams database, possibly one of the more complete
Vagabondo's
advice
- Low-cost
and last-minute flies:
Let's clear up a misunderstanding. The last-minute is
connected with travel packages remaining un-sold; this thing, for flies only, happens
very seldom, moreover, the risk is to be inserted in waiting lists and not be able
to fly at the chosen moment. Often you may obtain lower prices by booking very early
in advance than looking at the last moment among last-minute.
- Airport
taxes:
several low costa airlines do not include airport taxes in their prices. So you have
to consider that these taxes are high (sevveral dozens of euros), but above all that
they are extremely changing in different airports (usually the bigger the airport
the dearer the taxes): consequently a flight to Rome Fiumicino, for instance, could
be sensibly more expensive than one to Rome Ciampino (smaller and secondary airport),
even if the price of the ticket appears to be the same. On the contrary, an offer
looking more expensive could possibly include taxes, so you'
should always try to understand which is the final price!
- Secondary
airports:
all above said , it's evident that low cost airlines trend is to work with smalle
airports to save and make you save money. That's surely a very good thing, but our
advice is to controle accurately the connections of the airport with your final destination
(sometimes you may be lucky and discover they are quicker and cheaper than the main
airport ones, but it's not always so)
- Searching
engines for low cost flights:
in this page there is
edreams
searching engine,
that's, to our knowledge, the more effective and complete. Of course there are many
more, but very few are as cheap as they say to be. Vagabondo tested 12 searching
engines about an hypothetical weekend in London: only two of them were able to provide
for a cheaper price than the one of Travel agency near our home! one of them even
proposed us to fly with a Central Africa company for 1124 euro!! :-)
- The
lower cost:
the best way to obtain the lower price is, if you're patient, to look at all the
low cost airlines websites and see the best offer. But luckily for you there is Vagabondo
that, in the
following pages ,
collected all the links and of everyone synthetically described the routes they serve
(good, isn't it?).
A
last suggestion: when in the different airlines websites, look for routes map instead
of filling the usual form write
your destination:
there might be a very useful flight arriving to a city near your destination: a friend
of mine came to see me with an amazingly cheap flight Hambourg - Pescara, if she
had looked for
Rome she'd
never have found that flight, but looking at the routes map she detected it immediately
:-)
