Daniela Cappella has been working glass since 1981, first in Rome, in via dei Pettinari, and then in her house/laboratory of Fara Sabina. She is a very creative artist and has mastered a great many techniques for working glass, lead, collages, sandblasting, painting.
In her house the windows are charming medieval landscapes, in her studio a trompe l’oeil shows a blooming garden through a window with iron bars and curtains, while actually being a painted portion of the wall surrounded by two glass shutters.
In her extraordinarily tidy laboratory the shelves hold bottles and containers with "candies and small glass tiles of all shapes and colors or larger pieces of glass of different thickness and transparency. The mirrors capture these colors projecting their images.
On the shelves and on the tables one may admire a great variety of objects and jewels, always made with glass, mirrors, plates, watches, ashtrays, vases, lamps, appliques and bonbonnières.
The Studio organizes, during the months of July and August, summer courses in:
- lead woven stained-glass windows
- collage
- glass-fusion
