Fianello is a small medieval village castled on a hill surrounded by richly vegetated hills. The town maintains the aspect and atmosphere of ancient times with beautiful views on the surrounding nature. On Sunday one may visit the caves once used as wine cellars. Often events where one may view the ancient costumes are organized. Near the castle there is the Church of S. Maria Assunta, of medieval origins where one may visit the interesting romanic crypt. In 1950, during some works for the paving, some roman statues, probably from a villa and dated at approximately 100 B.C., were discovered.
Unfortunately it still hasn’t been able to place them in exposition in Fianello.
