The olive tree of Canneto

The Sabina and the island of Crete have always quarreled regarding the paternity of the oldest olive tree in Europe. We haven't seen the Greek one, but we can give you some indications regarding the Italian one: it is in Canneto Sabino, in an area which once belonged to the monks of Farfa.
This tree is supposedly more than 1500 years old and it has a diameter of approximately 7 meters. A natural monument which it is worthwhile visiting.
